If we could grasp the same tenacity as the toddler, we would achieve great things. In fact some of the most successful people do exactly that. They try one way, it doesn’t work, they try again another way. Regardless of what people might think of them or what failure might feel like.
I decided to write this post as I have been talking with a lot of small businesses in the last few years and I realised that almost ALL of the businesses I speak to start the conversation something like this:
“I need a great website, with blog, news feeds, ability to update and Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest & Instagram accounts. They all need to work all day every day for the business, oh and throw in a Youtube channel to make sure we can do video…”
It’s been a while since i’ve written something for my personal website. Life gets busy, but the truth is I really wanted to share this.
At the beginning of the year, I made some massive changes in my life. I changed the way I lived, ate and how I communicate (not only with others, but also with myself). These changes impacted my life in some huge ways. One of the biggest changes was focusing on only my MIGs.
Here we are in January 2015, and I have been getting far more involved with my business from a “Helicopter View’ and even taken on a great Business Mentor to help me grow as a leader. This article came back to mind after a coaching session today so I wanted to take the opportunity to share it. Here it is below, originally posted on 26 August 2014.
There are a few things that I have a bit of an issue with on this video. The first bit is the fact that it still refers to Gibraltar as a tax haven, which is incorrect. Gibraltar complies with all international and EU standards required for a finance centre.
Are we nearing “Success”? That’s a much harder question to answer. Recently I have found myself trying to figure out what “Success” actually is. Is it making loads of money?
It’s been a long time since my last post on here, but finally I have found some time to actually put “pen to paper”, metaphorically admittedly. It’s been an exciting year so far, having started with being in the USA for the first 3 months of the year and since being back in Gibraltar, launching our company’s new website and relaunching the online television channel for Gibraltar, Your Gibraltar TV.
Not unlike the song by Cindy Lauper, this week saw “just another manic monday”, with the exception that it is now Wednesday morning
It’s true, loving what you do makes it so much better. I couldn’t imagine the people that wake up everyday and start to get ready to go to a job that they hate, with people they don’t get on with and having to do something they don’t even enjoy. I’m guessing for most people that’s what work is, not for me, I am one of the lucky ones.
It’s the weekend, it’s been a beautiful weekend and one hell of a heat wave to go with it. Here in Gibraltar, it’s been hot, it’s hit 32-38 degrees, but in Sevilla it actually reached 51 degrees… That’s just far too hot to be able to function.
