Not unlike the song by Cindy Lauper, this week saw “just another manic monday”, with the exception that it is now Wednesday morning and the manic Monday seems to never want to end and or go away. What a week! It’s the strangest feeling being that busy and rushed off your feet that you actual contemplate how it may in fact be possible to increase the number of hours in a day.

Working till seven in the evening feels like I’m slacking and I now find myself thinking about how to build up to a 15 hour day without burning out or passing out on my desk. So far no solution. I remember reading something some time back and thinking that’s so true:
“If you’re working all hours, you’re doing it wrong!” – am I? The idea and concept of time management but more importantly efficiency was the main theme of the article. How efficient are we for those 10 hours at our desks staring into the deathly glow of a computer screen? I’d like to think that I am pretty good, being referred to by someone else as “being able to complete the average persons day in just a couple of hours” but the honest truth is a lot of time is lost every day.
It’s not my fault! No really it isn’t! Ok, so maybe some of it is, but the occasional phone calls, people popping in, maybe a quick lunch out and about… It doesn’t seem like a lot but if you add it all up you probably lose at least an hour per day because of it.
Anyways, this was just a bit of mindless ranting, but it did make me stop and think. Then I realised, writing this has helped to tag on an additional ten minutes to my wasted time today.
