Sometimes you just need to take a moment and think back on all the things that you’ve actually accomplished. Some of them not complete “success stories” as such, but accomplishments? Definitely. Today I had a blast from the past.

I was doing some searches online for some of my older projects. Things I had been involved in what feels like a lifetime ago. There have been a lot of projects, companies and attempts at finding “success”. Not all of them without huge blows to every aspect of my life.

Then, I stumbled across a few things that made me smile. It was suddenly a MASSIVE blast from the past as I came across these couple of projects.

Explaining my blast from the past!

In what feels like a “galaxy far far away” I purchased a stake in a magazine. The Gib Easy, it was all about classified ads in Gibraltar. Everything from cars to baby clothes. People could publish a personal ad for free and businesses could purchase advertising at a very reasonable cost.

Then, whilst owning part of the Gib Easy magazine, I also started an online tv channel in Gibraltar – Your Gibraltar TV. The magazine was under a different name, and so ultimately we made it a secondary part to our online creation.

Thus the YGTV Magazine was born. It’s short-lived life was a shame, but, having always believed that online was the only way forward, we focused on the site and binned the magazine idea all together just a few short months after rebranding it.

Why am I telling you this?

No particular reason to be honest. I just realised that far too often we get trapped in what’s going on at the moment, meaning we forget what we’ve done and where we’ve been.

Not everything has to be a BIG success. The old and cliched saying couldn’t be any more relevant than in this case:

“It’s not the destination that counts, it’s the journey!”

When I’m having moments of self-doubt, times when I can’t get myself fired up or I’m just sat there wondering what it’s all about, I find it incredibly powerful to look back on all the things I’ve done. All the things I’ve tried. Everything that I wanted to do, attempted to do, and whether it worked out well or not, I survived doing!

Another of my “old” projects:

This one was a beauty, Blue Oasis. We had been tasked with helping an individual who had over exposed himself on a particular property development. The issue was, with all of these apartments coming to completion, he wanted to “offload” some properties. So as not to compete with everyone else, he wanted to rent his properties with a distinct difference.

We created Blue Oasis, a selection of apartment with concierge services, to make sure it was for the “elite” in Gibraltar and that it stood out from the rest.

I had forgotten all about this project till today when I came across an article in the Gibraltar Magazine talking about it. You can see the magazine here on Issuu or by clicking on the image below:

Back to the future!

That’s enough about the past, it’s time to look at the future. Currently I’m working on a couple of new projects and just launched one last week in fact. Have you checked out the Nomadic Store yet?

Keep an eye out and if you want to see everything I’m up to, then just check out my Projects Page here.
