Here’s the challenge. It’s pretty simple to be honest. Can you blog every day for 30 days? Inspired somewhat by Seth Godin’s blog and his short and to the point posts, I wondered if I could create enough content to publish a blog post each and every day for the whole month of July.

I’m a big fan of challenges. I think it’s a great way to simply try something out and because it’s a short enough time period, you can push through it even if it is painful.

Social INK’s Challenges

At the agency, we set ourselves a few challenges in 2019. These included:

30 days of going Live on social media

100 blogs in 30 days

And

Starting a podcast in just 30 days

All three of the challenges were exactly that, challenging. They made us stronger. But man, did they push all our buttons throughout.

Personal challenges

It’s not just at work that I love challenges. For my own life, the biggest changes I’ve ever implemented have all started with simple 30 day challenges. Things like:

My Body Experiment – thanks to Tim Ferriss and the 4 Hour Body book

And more recently

My Morning Routine

These 2 small challenges have had HUGE impacts on my life. I’m healthier than I’ve ever been before, and I’m feeling the most productive and creative at work and in my personal life this year.

So why this challenge?

Simple. If you can do it every day for 30 days, and you can see the benefits to doing it at the end, you’re well on the way to creating and maintaining a habit. Now, this doesn’t work all the time.

In fact, the 100 blogs in a month challenge, was a stark reminder, that a small team of 4 should NEVER aim to publish that much content every month.

So onwards and upwards. Here we are, day 1, time for the challenge. To make this interesting, my good friend James O’Donnell has decided to make this a public challenge between the two of us.

This is another great way to help keep you accountable and to stay motivated with the “buddy system”.

Keep an eye out this week and let me know what you think in the comments or on social media.
